Economic Development
As our City continues to rapidly grow, we have an opportunity to focus on attracting, developing and retaining businesses that help us diversify our local economy, decrease reliance on property taxes and provide good jobs for our citizens. We do this by making sound strategic decisions on the mixture and types of retail, commercial, industrial and residential development that we promote through our land use planning, business incentives and, most importantly, partnerships with community and regional stakeholders. As a member of Council, this is my passion.
Fiscal Responsibility
Managing public money is a matter of public trust, and with that trust comes great responsibility. In the current economic environment, it is important for our City to carefully prioritize and allocate our funds so that we meet our most important obligations, manage our debt and prepare for the future. As a member of Council, this is my approach.
Public Safety
The most important responsibility of our City is to provide for the safety and security of our citizens. We meet this obligation by ensuring that our first responders – our police and fire departments – have the necessary resources, equipment and staff to do their work. As a member of Council, this is my priority.
Community Development
Our Community should be an ever more attractive place to live, work and play. To this end, the focus of our elected leadership should always be on promoting policies that will improve the quality of life of our citizens – good basic services, good transportation infrastructure, and good parks and recreation facilities. As a member of Council, this is my commitment.
